HAROLD BROOK founded THE POINT MEDIA in January 2003 after a successful 20-year corporate career in studio and television business affairs. Prior to forming THE POINT MEDIA, Mr. Brook was Executive Vice President, Business Affairs at NBC, where he was responsible for all negotiations and related activities for NBC’s entertainment division and its in-house production company, NBC Studios. Mr. Brook also ran business affairs for CBS and CBS Productions, its in-house production arm. He had previously worked in the legal departments at Twentieth Century Fox and Paramount Pictures Corporation.

RICHARD MARKS brings to THE POINT MEDIA more than 30 years of experience representing major studios as well as independent production and distribution companies in all aspects of the development, financing, production, marketing, sales and distribution of feature films, network and cable television programming, direct-to-home entertainment production and animated production. Mr. Marks was an attorney in the entertainment department of the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig and served as Vice President for Universal Television; Vice President and General Counsel for animation producer Nelvana Communications; Executive Vice President and General Counsel for independent producer/distributor Kushner-Locke; Vice President for the Weintraub Entertainment Group; and senior counsel at Paramount Pictures, handling legal work for the company’s feature film division and its network television division.

JAKE JACOBSON a veteran of more than three decades in entertainment law, joined THE POINT MEDIA in 2003 after spending much of his career at Paramount Pictures Corporation, handling business affairs matters for home video, first run syndication, television distribution and pay TV. During his tenure at Paramount, he served as Executive Vice President in charge of business affairs for the network television division. Prior to joining THE POINT MEDIA, Mr. Jacobson served as Chief Operating Officer of Pariah, Gavin Polone’s television and feature film production company.

AVIVA BERGMAN has held senior positions at independent television companies, a cable network and a major talent agency. Before joining THE POINT MEDIA in 2003 she served as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs at Lifetime Television, where she was responsible for global business affairs issues for original programming in all day-parts. Previously, as Senior Vice President, Business Affairs for ICM, Ms. Bergman worked closely with the agents in the television division and negotiated “package” agreements with studios. She also served as Senior Vice President at Dick Clark Productions, Inc., responsible for worldwide business and legal matters. Ms. Bergman began her professional career at leading entertainment law firms, including Russell & Glickman and the law offices of Frank J. Gruber.

NICHOLAS La TERZA joined THE POINT MEDIA in 2004 with extensive experience assisting clients and companies to structure, negotiate and document transactions in the development, financing, production, licensing and merchandising of both feature film and television programming. Mr. La Terza was a partner at the international law firm of Sidley & Austin, specializing in entertainment law. He then moved into the executive ranks, beginning at New World Pictures as General Counsel/Head of Business Affairs. He later served as Executive Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs for Landscape Entertainment, where he was responsible for theatrical features, and as head of Business Affairs for Largo Entertainment. He also was affiliated with Alliance Atlantis Entertainment. Mr. La Terza is a current member and past Chairman of the prestigious UCLA Entertainment Law Symposium Committee, as well as a member of the Executive Branches of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

ELIZABETH ZEE brings more than 15 years of experience in the development, production, distribution and licensing of motion pictures, direct-to-video productions and television programs. While at Paramount Pictures Corporation, she handled business and legal affairs for home-video and pay television before moving to the Network Television Division as Vice President, Legal Affairs. She left Paramount to become President of DeForest Research Associates, a provider of clearance services to the entertainment industry, including script reports, title searches, copyright searches and reports, and clip clearance services. Ms. Zee began her career in the Washington, D.C. office of Baker & McKenzie and the Los Angeles office of O’Melveny & Myers.

RICHARD FOWKES
joins THE POINT MEDIA as a business affairs consultant following 25 years with the Motion Picture Group at Paramount Pictures, where he served for 13 years as Head of Business Affairs. In that capacity, he was responsible for all negotiations and legal activities related to Paramount’s motion picture slate. His expertise includes developing and evaluating economic viability models, structuring deals, and developing and executing negotiation strategies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fowkes was based in New York and served as a production attorney for United Artists and as a staff attorney for the Dramatists Guild.
